Matej Slezak

Photographer invited by the city of Trenčín, Slovakia
Behind the window is a collection of images that shows the team of Trenčín 2026. We managed to make use of the best safety measure there is - staying inside, while I stood in the outside garden, balcony or just in front of a window on the first floor. This made me able to capture the beauty of the work from home atmosphere without any facemasks. The element of reflection is intentionally preserved to portray the thin line between inside and outside visible only thanks to my own reflection.

Peto loves multitasking almost as much as the colour black.

Lucia was the only one I couldn't meet personally through a window since she is currently abroad. At least we managed to have some fun during a call.

Patrik rocks the home office without a charger. He also likes to live on the edge.

Veronika is a very busy woman, which is rather obvious considering she almost always uses at least 3 screens and 2 keyboards.

Kristína almost never works alone.

Lenka's household has 5 cats, sadly 4 of them hate the camera.

Sachel's creativity never sleeps, just as the city directly underneath his windows.

Terina's environment is filled with art and plants. Since all the galleries and plant shops are closed now, she had to improvise.

Matej Slezak

Matej is a graphic designer and photographer from Trenčín, Slovakia. While he loves to use the camera and all the technicalities of photography, he discovered his passion for photography through his love for graphic design.
His work is mostly focused on the viewer's imagination of a story he tries to tell through the lens of a camera. His work is heavily focused on composition principles and harmony hidden in contrast, all of which he also loves to use in graphic design. Matej likes to tell stories and according to him, every story has to have some kind of a philosophy hidden inside.
